Outputs were identified from a weekly Web of Science alert, which identified any articles which had a Durham affiliated author, and where one or more Research Councils was included in any funding acknowledgement. These were then manually checked to see if the funding statement showed a link to a Durham affiliated author to assess if this was an output which Durham was required to ensure met the policy requirements. If so, a search was made by DOI on Durham's repository, and on other meta-repository search engines to locate if a record was available and compliant.
